Ash's Dragonite was the first Pokémon caught by Ash in Pokémon Journeys: The Series, and his fifty-third overall.

Personality[]

Much like Ash's Muk, Dragonite is a hugger, often embracing people and Pokémon, even when she is meeting them for the first time. She also displayed both courage and determination in saving Ash, which gave her the boost she needed to evolve. Like many members of her species, Ash's Dragonite is an adept flyer, and relishes the chance to do so. Dragonite has also been shown to have good instincts as a caretaker, as seen in Panic in the Park!, when she convinced Ash and Goh that the conflict between Goh's Pokémon would be best left for them to solve themselves, while at the same time it made no effort to stop them from trying to intervene. In There's a New Kid in Town!, she was able to stop a crying fit from Ash's Sobble with simply a gentle hug.

Dragonite is also an extremely resilient and strong Pokémon, being able to defeat both of Korrina's Pokémon, including her Mega Lucario, and withstand a multitude of attacks. In battle, she gains a fierce disposition, indicating a passion for and enjoyment of battling, though afterwards, she will return to her usual happy nature.

History[]

Prior to Series[]

Dragonite was a Pokémon Ash caught as he was working as a research fellow under Professor Cerise.

Start of New Beginning[]

In Beginnings and Reflections!, Ash visited Pallet Town and introduced his Pokémon to his new friends that he caught during his journey around the world, including Dragonite. During the visit, Dragonite trained with Swellow, Staraptor, Unfezant, and Noivern. Ash then used Dragonite as his second Pokémon in his battle against Gold, using her against his Ambipom. However, despite her best effort, Dragonite was defeated.
