Defense

Biota is weak to Bug because bugs eat mushrooms. It's weak to Ice because icy cold temperatures can kill most mushrooms and bacteria. And it's weak to Light because mushrooms don't thrive in bright environments.

Biota resists Biota since mushrooms often thrive in numbers. It resists Electric because mushrooms are bad conductors of electricity. It resists Flying because mushrooms are poisonous for birds. It resists Grass because plants usually live in symbiosis with mushrooms. It resists Ground since mushrooms grow in the ground. It resists Poison because most common pesticides, or plant killers don't work on mushrooms. And it resists Water because mushrooms use water to grow, and thrive in damp environments.

Offense

Biota is super effective against Flying, since mushrooms are poisonous for birds. It's strong against Ground, and Rock because mushrooms can easily grow into them, and Water because mushrooms use water to grow.

It's resisted by Biota since mushrooms often thrive in numbers. It's resisted by Bug because bugs eat mushrooms. It's resisted by Fairy because in most fairy tales fairies are seen living in and around mushrooms. It's resisted by Fire because mushrooms are easily flammable. It's resisted by Ghost because spores from mushrooms or bacteria aren't going to be very effective against a spirit. It's weak against Grass because plants usually live in symbiosis with mushrooms. It's resisted by Magic because mushrooms and the sorts are often used in spells or potions, so wielders of magic would know how to counter their attacks. And it's resisted by Steel because metal's very sturdy, and mushrooms can't do very much against it.

Trivia

  • A Biota/Grass type Pokémon is one of the few type combinations with two 4x weaknesses.
  • Despite not being a combination with an associated Pokémon, a Biota/Dark type would have two 4x weaknesses.
