Trivia[]
Bladeux, along with Pixiun and Battrois, have primary types that create a type triangle (although an imperfect one).
Origin[]
Bladeux is based on the Greco-Roman god Hermes/Mercury. Its appearance mainly resembles roosters, birds associated with him. Its two tails resemble the caduceus, which is Hermes's/Mercury's staff and one of his personal symbols. Bladeux, along with the other members of the New Legendary Birds, are based on the Kantonian Legendary Birds (Bladeux specifically shares traits with Zapdos).
Name origin[]
Bladeux is derived from "blade", referring to its Steel typing, and "deux", which is French for "two" and an indicator that it is the first in the group of New Legendary Birds. The French names are a reference to the Spanish numbers in the Kantonian Legendary BIrds' names.
Metaru is literally "metal", a reference to its typing.
