As Weavile

Lazuli's Weavile (Japanese: ラズリのマニューラ Razuri's Manyula) is one of the Pokémon that Lazuli captured during her journey in Hoenn.

New Era[]

Sinnoh[]

Weavile during Lazuli's battle against Cynthia's Garchomp at Amity Square. She commands for Weavile to use Blizzard, and despite being a super-effective hit, it does not faze Garchomp at all. Garchomp then uses Dragon Rush, which causes Weavile to freeze instead of trying to dodge. Lazuli tells Weavile to use Ice Beam. However, Garchomp is able to dodge the attack twice and slams itself into Weavile, knocking it out cold.

Weavile later helped Lazuli capture a Gliscor that she gained an interest in, and despite failing at first, Weavile worked together with Electabuzz to defeat and capture the wild Gliscor.

During Lazuli's Full Battle against Dwayne at Lake Acuity, Weavile was chosen as Lazuli's second Pokémon to battle against Dwayne's Crobat. Dwayne tells Crobat to begin with Air Slash. Crobat gets the hit in, and Lazuli then has Weavile use Swords Dance. Dwayne calls for a Supersonic, and Lazuli counters this by ordering Blizzard. The Ice-type move hits Crobat hard, and Lazuli then has Weavile follow up with Metal Claw. Crobat flies low and Weavile jumps onto his back. Weavile then slashes Crobat's back and jumps off as the Bat Pokémon crashes to the ground. Lazuli orders Weavile to go after Crobat with another Metal Claw, and Dwayne has Crobat use Cross Poison. Crobat and Weavile trade blows, but Crobat is able to gain the advantage and sends Weavile flying. Crobat maintains the assault, and Lazuli orders a Blizzard while Dwayne calls for Brave Bird. Crobat flies out of range of the Blizzard and scores a direct hit with Brave Bird. Although Crobat suffers from the recoil, Weavile comes out of it far worse off and, despite its efforts, collapses to the ground unable to battle.

Weavile appeared again shortly after Lazuli's elimination from the Lily of the Valley Conference, when he, and along with the other Pokémon left behind, were informed of her loss by Rollins.

Next Generation[]

Sinnoh Times Two[]

Weavile was chosen as Lazuli's third and final Pokémon for her training battle against Felicia at the Battle Pyramid, facing off against her Pachirisu. Weavile uses Agility to match Pachirisu's speed, before throwing her back with Ice Shard. Lazuli berates Felicia for calling herself a good Trainer if she's struggling against her this much and has Weavile attack with Quick Attack, dealing another big hit. With Felicia's encouragement, Pachirisu stands back up, not wanting to let Felicia down. Pachirisu then puts her newly-learned attack to use: Attract and successfully lands it, making Weavile become blindly in love with Pachirisu. Felicia then orders Pachirisu to use Discharge, and Weavile gets blasted by the attack, sending him reeling back. Lazuli quickly recalls Weavile and sends him back out immediately, therefore snapping him out of Attract's effects, before ordering him to use Ice Beam, but Pachirisu's Super Fang collides with Ice Beam, freezing her teeth, although she uses this to her advantage as Pachirisu bites Weavile with her frozen Super Fang, causing extra damage. As Weavile suffers the damage caused from the attack, Pachirisu takes the opportunity to end the battle with Spark, smashing directly into Weavile and sending him crashing into the wall behind Lazuli, rendering him unable to battle and giving Felicia the victory.

Personality and Characteristics[]

Weavile is a very reliable Pokémon, being often used as Lazuli's backup for whenever she gets in a pinch. However, Weavile can showcase fear whenever he finds himself battling against an opponent whose power greatly outmatches his own, seen when Weavile froze in place as Cynthia's Garchomp showed zero damage from his attacks and dashed towards him.
