'Protectorate', formerly called 'Leinad', is the mysterious, seemingly-dark, 16-year old leader of Team Protectorate. His appearance screams 'evil' but his actions and intentions mean well.

Because he is combined with Giratina, he can use a variety of Giratina's abilities. He can also combine fully with Giratina temporarily, transforming him into a more powerful, although hideous, form.

Trivia

• Protectorate is suppossed to be an alternate universe tangent of a Hellcat Squadran series character, named 'IceBite' who, like Protectorate, prefers to be called by his codename (except from his friends), rather then his real name, which, in both cases, is 'Leinad'.
• 'Protectorate', along with Giratina, Arcadius, Chosros, and Arceus, is the only being aware of the existance of Dregus.
• If Protectorate were to be battled in a game, his Battle Music would either be the Final Fantasy XII Track "Clash on the Big Bridge", the Final Fantasy XII Track "Boss Battle", or the Final Fantasy XII Track "Fight to the Death"
• 'Protectorate' has, at one point, encountered Cynthia. When questioned about the incident, he merely says, "She was a valuable ally and I look forward to our next encounter."
