Pokémon Stars (Japanese: ポケットモンスタースター Pocket Monsters Stars) is the third game to Pokémon Sun and Moon, and is the third Generation VII core series game. It serves as the direct sequel to Sun and Moon, respectively.

It takes place in Kanto and is set straight after Lillie's departure from Alola. While Rowlet, Litten and Popplio remain starter Pokémon, they receive new evolutions. Decidueye, Incineroar and Primarina become their nighttime evolutions.

Plot[]

The game begins in Viridian City, the player's hometown. Lillie, a young girl aspiring to become a Pokémon Trainer, arrives with her mother Lusamine. They are there to seek treatment for Lusamine after a mysterious Pokémon named Nihilego intoxicated her. The player comes across a shy Pokémon named Cosmog, which becomes attached to you and soon becomes your first Pokémon. It seems to have arrived for some unknown reason, but seems to be a messenger of some sort. The player befriends Lillie and they become friends, and Lillie is very interested in the player's Cosmog, referring to the Cosmog she once had. Lusamine, who goes into major depression, is found dead, seemingly have killed herself. The player comforts Lillie, and they soon discover the dark truth: she was murdered. The truth is being covered up by the new government run by Team Rocket, a villainous organization whom have returned years after their disbandment, and the player and Lillie try to seek out the truth.
