Biography

As Weedle

On the outskirts of Viridian forest, Poli spotted Weedle, who tried to defend itself while quivering, losing to Poliwag easily and getting caught.

Weedle was used to battle Brock. Although it put up a fight, it was defeated by Geodude's Rock Throw. Weedle is later seen trying to get a backbone by standing down a Fearow but gets beaten badly. However, after training with Poli, it managed to learn Poison Sting and defeat Fearow, evolving into Kakuna in the process.

As Kakuna

Kakuna was used to battle Jessie's Ekans and James' Koffing with Zubat. Although it tried its hardest, it barely scratched the poison types and fainted protecting Zubat from an attack.

Kakuna was used to battle Misty's Psyduck, and was again hindered by its poor speed, but then when it tried to tackle Psyduck, it tripped and cracked its sheel, evolving into Beedrill.

As Beedrill

Beedrill later proceeded to defeat Psyduck with Twineedle, and then proceeded to single handedly beat Staryu and Starmie on its own, without any input. However, it soon falls to Gyarados.

Beedrill was used to help catch a Scyther, but loses almost immediately due to its hyper agressive nature leaving it open to attacks and gave Scyther the chance to flee.

Beedrill was sent out to try and deal with a Beedrill swarm just outside Vermilon City but it tried fighting them single handedly instead and loses badly. After being healed and having a heart-to-heart with Poli, Beedrill finally learnt to respect its trainer and learns Aerial ace to dispel the swarm.

Beedrill duels with Blue's Butterfree but falls victim to its scales deflecting Poison Sting and making its harder to hit. Eventually, it activates Swarm and uses Twineedle to grab Butterfree and fall downwards at highspeeds, taking both of them out.

Beedrill was used to solve Lt. surge's Gym puzzle by flying over every trash can in search of buttons. It activates both and battles Lt.Surge's Voltorb and manages to tie with it when it used Explosion.

Beedrill was seen training to use Iron Defense when Poli visted the Power Plant, to make up for its frailness. While training in the Power Plant, Beedrill and its trainer encounter Zapdos, which Beedrill battles. During the battle, it masters Iron Defense and learns X Scissor, but while it still loses, Zapdos acknowledged its efforts and teaches Beedrill drill peck before leaving.

Beedrill was used to battle Erika's Victreebel, but fails to land a hit and was withdrawn. Beedrill later battles Venusaur and loses to a point blank solar beam.

Beedrill helps defeat Venonat with Drill Peck thanks to [[Poli's Crobat]|Golbat]]'s spill over damage, and duel venomoth near the top of the gym. However, Venomoth easily overpowers Beedrill. A similar case happened with Sabrina's Hypno, but it managed also take down hypno.

Beedrill also helps beat Blaine's Arcanine and Giovanni's Nidoqueen. Beedrill was used to battle Lorelei's Slowbro. Unlike Melmetal, it resisted Hypnosis by flapping its wings at high speeds and learns Sonic Boom. After stunning Slowbro with Sonic Boom, it defeats Slowbro with Fell Stinger. It was defeated by Cloyster, which ate every attack with its shell.

Beedrill later defeats Bruno's Machamp, Agatha's Haunter and Lance's Gyarados before being koed by the next pokemon (Hitmonlee, Gengar and Charizard respectively). Beedrill also manages to overcome Blue's Pidgeot and loses to Nidoqueen.

Personality

As Weedle, it was shown to be a rather shy Pokemon and was rarely seen, not being used in a lot of battles. It is normally seen hiding behind Poliwag.

As Kakuna, it lacked any sort of personality, and was very slow.

As Beedrill, it became very aggressive and disobedient, refusing to listen to its trainer and often getting koed as a result of being too aggressive. However, Beedrill eventually learnt to trust its trainer. As a result, Beedrill became a reliable battler like ash's Charizard.

Beedrill is well aware of its glass cannon-esuqe properties but chooses to stick with its Rushdown attack methods, which tend to give it mixed results. It also developed a more strategic side, using defensive move like Iron Defense to eat attacks and survive longer.

Moves Used

  • Tackle:Weedle headbutts the opponent.
    • Kakuna nearly used this move, but failed after tripping.
  • String Shot:Weedle/Kakuna shoot out a sticky thread from its rear.
  • Poison Sting: Weedle/Kakuna/Beedrill's rear end glows purple and fire multiple poison darts at the opponent.
  • Harden:Kakuna/Beedrill glow white briefly. This makes their defensive prowess stronger.
  • Twineedle:Beedrill attacks the opponent with 2 stingers.
  • Aerial Ace: Beedrill homes in on the target and attacks with its stinger.
  • Iron Defense: Beedrill glows silver and hardens its kin, making its bulkier. Electric attacks easily flow over it.
  • X-Scissor: Beedrill crosses its arms and lunges at the opponent while its arms glow with purple aura.
  • Drill Peck: Beedrill spins its right stinger clockwise at high speeds before ramming it at the opponent. It an also be used to manipulate air currents.
  • Sonic Boom: Beedrill flaps its wings hard and amplifies its buzzing sound to damage opponents.
  • Fell Stinger: Beedrill powerfully jabs the opponent with one of its poison stingers. If Beedrill's finishing blow was Fell Stinger, it glows green for a split second and gets stronger.
