Quinny is a character in A Just Edge. He is Ryan's best friend. The two of them grew up together, though neither became a trainer when they were 10 years old. By the time Ryan set off on his Pokémon journey at the start of the story, Quinny had decided to become a Pokémon gardener, as that was his passion. Of course, no one knows what a Pokémon gardener actually does. Since Quinny spends so much money buying new plants to tend (he particularly likes peppers and cucumbers), he has to have a job to pay for all of that stuff. So, Quinny serves as a tutor at the Acapulco School of Science where he tutors struggling students in physics and various types of math.
Quinny is sociable, though he often struggles to maintain his energy. This causes him to drink tons of energy drinks. He is quite obsessive about his plants and does not like to battle, but since he and Ryan go way back, the two do battle their Pokémon against one another sometimes.
