Shane (Japanese: シェーン Shēn,) otherwise known as Shane Summers (Japanese: サマーズシェーン Samāzu Shēn,) is the deuteragonist of Pokémon: Dreams and Adventures, and thus plays a major role in the development of the story. He, like his older brothers and rivals, Michael and Aries, is a Pokémon Trainer from Pallet Town in the Kanto region. Having been drawn to Pokémon due to the influence of his oldest brother, he would soon set out to join Michael and Aries in their Pokémon training journey as Michael and Aries' rival in the hopes of collecting Pokémon to befriend and battle alongside. Also like Michael and Aries, Shane was given his first Pokémon by Professor Oak, who also entrusted his dream of completing the Pokédex to Shane. Shane would later go on to challenge the eight Gym Leaders for their badges in order to become Champion of the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau; as well as take on the evil crime syndicate, Team Rocket, for the sake of people and Pokémon alike.

Like Michael and Aries, the author has chosen to keep information regarding Shane to a bare minimum in order to keep the story suspenseful for readers. Therefore, little else is known about Shane so far.

Tupac
Main article: Tupac, Shane's Charmander

Tupac is the Charmander Shane received after visiting Professor Oak's laboratory. As such, Tupac is the first Pokémon Shane has come to possess and befriend, as well as the one he's held onto the longest. In terms of behavior, Tupac displays traits that seem typical of Fire type Pokémon; including a hot-headed personality and a strong determination to go with it. Tempering these fiery characteristics however, are some of Tupac's gentler traits, as Tupac has shown to be capable of embarrassment, and compassion, friendliness and love; as seen in how he and Shane get along. All in all, Tupac appears to be a strong-willed and stubborn individual with a good heart underneath it all. When it comes to combat, he is a powerful fighter, due to his typing and species' reliance on quick speed and powerful offenses.

Currently, Tupac possesses the Scratch and Growl attacks in his known list of moves.

Trivia

  • The concept behind Shane's inclusion in the story derives itself from the shared history Wyvern 0m3g4 has possessed with his younger brother, WaterLion1551, as well as their shared interest in Pokémon. Due to the brothers often owning one of two versions of each generation of the Pokémon video games (for example, Red and Blue for Generation I, with WaterLion owning Red and Wyvern owning Blue; or Gold and Silver for Generation II, with WaterLion owning Silver and Wyvern owning Gold,) they would sometimes have fun considering themselves to be their own in-game rivals; even going as far as to name the rival character after the other brother (with Wyvern naming his rival after WaterLion and vice-versa.) With this in mind and because of Wyvern's devotion and affection for his younger brother, he had decided to pay a loving tribute to both his brother and their collective childhood together by creating a character based entirely around WaterLion1551 and how he'd like him and his Pokémon to be portrayed in the story.
