Story

Mary, Drake, April and Jon are outside in the ranch.

Mary: What is the plan today?

Jon's Torchic runs up to him and Jon picks up Torchic.

Jon: There are some places of interest.

???: Sure is in Hoenn!

Everyone turns around and sees Kukui, Beth, Callum, Millie and Daisy.

Drake: Professor Kukui!

Kukui: Hey there everyone.

Beth and Jon hug.

Jon: What are you doing here?

Kukui: An extra curriculum lesson.

Callum: We are here to see how Hoenn Pokemon behave.

Jon: Ah I see.

Daisy: Is that a Hoenn Pokemon in your arms Jon?

Jon: Yes, this is Torchic!

Torchic: Tor!

Kukui: Does anyone know what type Torchic is? Apart from Beth.

Millie: Fire type.

Kukui: Correct.

Beth: Torchic is cute.

Jon's Torchic blushes.

Daisy: What moves does Torchic know?

Jon: Ember, Rock Tomb, Feather Dance and I think there is one more.

Torchic then uses Peck a lot on Jon.

Jon: Ow, thanks Torchic.

They all laugh.

Kukui: Now, what is the other two starters of Hoenn?

Callum: Mudkip and Seedot.

Kukui: Mudkip is yes.

Mudkip and Treecko run in and jump on Jon's shoulder.

Mary: Whoa!

Drake: They yours too?

Jon: No.

Professor Birch walks in.

Birch: Hello there everyone.

April: Who is this?

Jon: This is Professor Birch, the Professor here in Hoenn.

Kukui: Professor Birch is here to help us show the starter Pokemon.

Birch: Unfortunately a trainer picked up a Torchic this morning.

Jon: You can use my Torchic Professor.

Callum: What are we going to learn about the three starter Pokemon?

Birch: The Hoenn starters are like the other Pokemon, Fire, Water and Grass. New trainers chose the Pokemon to start their journeys.

Kukui: The starters have minimal battle experience and is perfect for new trainers.

Suddenly, three Poochyena appear and Howl at Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko.

Birch: Poochyena!

Jon: Why are they here?

They all hit the Hoenn starters with Tackle.

Jon: Right, a battle it is then. Torchic, use Ember!

Torchic uses Ember and they all dodge.

Birch: They seem like they won't leave.

April: Do you need help Jon?

Jon: No, we are good.

Kukui: Actually, why don't Daisy and Millie battle with Treecko and Mudkip.

Daisy: I choose Mudkip.

Millie: Then I've got Treecko.

Jon: Right.

All the Poochyena use Take Down, hitting all the Hoenn starters.

Millie: No!

Daisy: What moves do Treecko and Mudkip know?

Rotom-Dex scans them.

Rotom-Dex: Mudkip knows Water Gun, Tackle and Protect. Treecko knows Pound, Quick Attack and Bullet Seed,

Daisy: Right, thanks Rotom.

Jon: Now, Feather Dance!

Torchic uses Feather Dance and lowers the Poochyena's attack.

Millie: Quick Attack!

Treecko uses Quick Attack and hits all of the Poochyena.

Daisy: Water Gun!

Mudkip then hits all the Poochyena with Water Gun.

Kukui: Good.

Jon: Now, Ember!

Torchic uses Ember towards the Poochyena, but Mightyena jumps in the way and protects the Poochyena.

Callum: Who is that?

Rotom-Dex: Mightyena, the Bite Pokemon. Mightyena is a Dark Type. They move primarily in packs, working together to capture their prey.

Jon: Hold on.

Jon walks over to the Mightyena.

Beth: Jon!

Drake: Jon, don't!

However, Jon pets Mightyena and Mightyena allows him to and plays with Jon.

April: Right, I'm confused.

Mary: You aren't the only one.

Jon: Sorry for attacking your cubs.

Mightyena smiles and then looks at Professor Birch.

Kukui: Why is Mightyena looking at you?

Birch: In all honesty, Mightyena and I are good friends.

Beth: Okay?

Jon: Mightyena was injured as a Poochyena and he wandered on to the ranch when I was around 14, and I took him to see Birch, and then after a few months, Poochyena was well enough but Poochyena wanted to stay for a while, and soon evolved into Mightyena.

Kukui: I see.

Birch: I'm sorry for setting this all up.

Millie: That was cruel.

Torchic uses Peck on Birch.

Jon: Torchic.

Everyone laughs and the screen freezes.

Narrator: Our heroes first day in the Hoenn was a little eventful, with Kukui and the school kids arriving for an extra curriculum day. However, some Poochyena attacked and Birch was there with Treecko and Mudkip, and our heroes stopped the Poochyena and met Mightyena in the process.
